The next regular Board of Education meeting will be on October 12, 2026, at 6:00 p.m., at the District Office. All meetings are open to the public. The Board of Education approved the 2026-27 school year budget. They also approved the property tax request resolution and set the school system's final property tax request for the 2026-27 school year. The levy will decrease by 1.3 cents to $1.345, which is the lowest the levy has been in 16 years!  Click here for more information about the budget and property tax levy.

Bennington Elementary kindergarten students recently took their learning into the community with a visit to the fire station. The trip connected to their Social Studies lessons about communities, community helpers, rules, and laws, as well as their recent learning about the five senses and how they help keep us safe.

During the visit, firefighters taught students about fire safety and demonstrated how they put on their protective gear. Students watched as a firefighter went from his regular uniform to full gear, including his face mask, and learned that even though firefighters may look and sound different when wearing their equipment, they are there to help.

The visit gave students a fun, hands-on opportunity to learn more about fire safety and the important role firefighters play in our community.
